Merry Friday! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season, regardless of what your particular holiday may be. Personally, I celebrate cookies.
Yum, yum, score!
Okay, onto to the important Twitter stuff:
- Earlier this week, the now-famous Mike Wilson live tweeted a plane crash, proving that near-death experiences are the quickest way to bump up your Twitter numbers. Way to go, Mike!
- If you haven’t heard, Michael Gray revealed that Feedburner has now officially been rebranded a Google product. Maybe now they’ll start paying attention to it? Maybe? Probably not.
- Michael also pointed us to Aaron Wall’s interview with Ralph Wilson on getting free links to your Web site. Aaron is filled with awesome.
- Shimon Sandler gave us all a nice holiday present with his Guide to Buying Established Websites.
- Melanie Phung shared her favorite tweet of the year and the SEO community laughed (or maybe cried?) in unison.
- Twitter finally (finally, finally) brought back its People Search. We’re w00ting right along with you, Kristy.
- In case you only have a minute and a half, Miguel Cancino gives you Facebook Connect Explained in 90 seconds. Start your stopwatches.
- Guy Kawasaki shared the Seven Rules to Surviving an Abusive Boss, should you suffer from Post Traumatic Boss Disorder. Luckily, I don’t. I just suffer from Post Traumatic Way Too Many Holiday Cookies Disorder. [You may not, but I find myself hilarious]
- Mashable compared 5 Great Online Karaoke Sites for those of you who enjoy singing to your computers. No judging.
- Lee Odden shared 42+ Social Media and Content Marketing Predictions for 2009.
- Oh, and if you’re going to Affiliate Summit, don’t forget your ’80s prom dress (or, uh, suit, if you’re a dude)! Thanks to Scott Polk for the hat tip. I will so totally be there. Now I just need a prom date. Any takers?
In the silly Twitter finds:
- Jim Boykin says that cat tastes like lamb and pretty much scars me for life. Damn you, Boykin!
- Congrats to Eric Lander who was selected as one of Obama’s top scientific advisors. Oh, wait. It wasn’t that Eric Lander? Never mind then. You can thank Shiran Pasternak for confusing me. Wait, is Shiran related to that other Pasternack? No? Ugh.
- Kristy Bolsinger shared the MacGyver-like tool she used to dig her car out of the snow. And then I laughed for about 20 minutes straight.
- The swoon-worthy Kevin Ryan introduced me to Ninja New York. You think Jim should take us all there for a ninja-themed field trip, right? Me too!
- Reddit gave us 20 Cool Ways to Open Your Beer Bottle. I prefer to use the Red Sox bottler opener that Rhea got me for Christmas. Thanks, Rhea!
- Manny Marrero pointed to an Engadget story called Wii blamed for ridiculous increase in British hosptial visits. And holy Jesus, did you see that lady’s eye?
- And props to Stephanie Woods for accomplishing something I have only dreamt of. Dangerous and delicious, indeed.
Those are my Top Twitter Picks for the week. What interesting stuff did you find?
[Oh yeah, and if you want to get on my silly Twitter fun, add me at @LisaBarone so I know you exist!]
Until next time, happy tweeting.

Wow that Nija restaurant is freaking awesome! They have a desert of a grapefruit that has a small sword through it, you pull it out and smoke pours out from dry ice. INGENIOUS!
Seriously. I’m headed into the City this weekend and I may have to go check it out.
